Gone but not forgotten. Mary Sabo, wife of Michael Sabo died at the family home 2. Bennett Avenue last night. The deceased was 4. Pueblo 1. 9 years ago. She was well known in this city and was a member of the St. Mary's Church and active in a number of the church societies. She is survived by her husband and nine children - Joseph, Mary, Andrew, Michael, Stephen, Frank, Fanny, Anna, and Alice. The funeral will be held Sunday in charge of the Mc. Carthy Undertaking Company. The hour of the funeral will be announced later. Pueblo Chieftain - March 2. The funeral of the late, Mrs. Mary Sabo, wife of Michael Sabo, a woman respected by all, was held yesterday from her late residence, 2. Bennett Avenue at 9: 3. St. Anthony's Church at 1. Preceding the cortege a band led by Matt Jerman, rendered the funeral dirge and hundreds of people, all of whom knew and loved Mrs. Sabo, followed the funeral car to the church. The church was filled to its capacity and the solemn requiem mass was read by Rev. Joseph as celebrant, Rev. Urban as deacon, and Rev. Walter as sub- deacon. Anthony's children's choir sang the requiem. A wealth of beautiful flowers were sent to the home by the many friends of the deceased and flowers of many designs were in evidence. The funeral cortege was one of the largest seen in the city for a long time and many automobiles followed the body to the cemetery. The following societies attended the services and acted as escort: The Ladies' Catholic Society, St. Mary's Society, An Zivana Ladies Society, St. Anthony's Society, and the Pennsylvania Society. Many members of the above societies were present. The pall bearers were Mesdames Teresa Novak, Sophia Robak, Anna Hrutkay, Katherine Hiza, Anna Stascak, and Frances Balas. The flower bearers were Mesdames Jennie Rehak, Helen Rozboril, Mary Hoody, Anna Rozboril, Mary Brada, Anna Soja, Z. Stascak, Anna Kocan, and Karolina Herman. The interment was in the family lot in Roselawn under the direction of the Mc. Carthy Undertaking Company. She was born May 1, 1. John and Julia Sabo. Mary graduated from Primero High School and attended Trinidad State Junior College. She was a claims taker at the employment office, a mine clerk at Valdez and a discount teller at First National Bank. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ann and Helen, brothers John Jr., Charles, Joe and Frank. She is survived by cousins Andy Szabo and family, Les Szabo and family, all of Wisconsin and Frank Sabo and family of Hudson, Wyoming and numerous relatives and friends Ersilia Vogt, Ann Kralik and Vilma Tarulli. Funeral mass will be Friday, February 2. Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery. The family has entrusted Mullare- Murphy Funeral Home with the arrangements. Sabo was a man of sterling character and leaves a multitude of friends to mourn his passing. He was a member of Pennsylvania Lodge, Jetnoto Society, and the Greek Catholics Lodge. He attended St. Anthony's Church. Surviving him are five sons, Joseph, Andrew, Michael, Stephen, and Frank, and four daughters, Mary, Frances, Annie, and Alice, all of this city. Two brothers, Albert of Rock Springs, Wyoming, and Stephen of Seattle, Wash. The body is being cared for by the Mc. Carthy Undertaking Company and the funeral announcement will be made later.
